The Coffee Trick — Turn Any Restaurant Into a Smart Restaurant in Minutes
Free to start. You are paid only when a restaurant pays. Here is the exact routine — same seat, same words, same order of scans — that turned one iced coffee into a reward that keeps paying.(*)
This is not a sales job. It is a repeatable move — a cheat code — and this page is the button combo. You sit down as a customer, you build the restaurant's menu while your coffee melts, and you let the product do the talking. Follow it exactly the first time; improvise later.
Your reward, honestly
When a restaurant you found pays, you earn 40% of what it pays for the first 6 months, then 20% for as long as it stays. Paid monthly, to your bank account, only on money actually received. During the free period you earn nothing — and if the owner never scans your QR, you earn nothing. No scan, no reward. That is the whole deal; nobody will ever ask you for money.
Pick the target
Not every restaurant is worth your coffee. Work down this list:
- First choice: places in tourist areas still running a paper menu.
- Second: mid-tier restaurants near hotels with no English menu at all.
- Third: busy local spots with long menus — the ones the staff dread explaining.
Skip fine dining (they have agencies), chains (the decision lives at head office), and street stalls (there is no menu to build). Go in the golden hours, 14:00–16:30, when the staff are bored and the boss is reachable. Never walk in during a rush.
Sit down. Be a customer.
Take a table near the counter — close enough to talk, out of the waiters' path. Order a drink; one iced coffee is the entire investment. Everything you need is on your phone. Do not ask for the owner, do not announce anything. You are a customer having a coffee, and for the next few minutes that is genuinely all you are.
Scan the menu
When the drink arrives, ask for the paper menu with this line — tap to copy:

The line is Vietnamese — it asks to borrow the menu for a few minutes to try a menu-translation app. If saying it is beyond you, showing the screen works just as well.
Photograph the menu in UnivMenu and add the restaurant's name. That is the whole of it; the AI reads the dishes and builds the menu with translations in seven languages while your coffee is still cold. A few minutes later you are holding three QR codes: the menu, the staff login, and your checkout.
The wow moment
The demo is four moves, in order. Do not skip one.
Show the menu. Their dishes and their prices on your phone — then the same page in English, in Russian, in French. Let them swipe.
Get them in. They scan the staff QR and they are in: instant login, no password, and the access expires by itself after 4 hours.
Order. Pick a dish or two through the menu, show your checkout QR, and say:

Let it land. The order arrives on their phone in Vietnamese — quantities, allergies, notes, dish by dish. The kitchen always reads Vietnamese; nobody in the back ever reads a translation.
Plant the seed
Two endings, both fine.
The owner is there: they scan the menu QR, tap This restaurant is mine, enter an email and a password, and the restaurant is live, free until 30 September 2026. Staff accounts are created by name in one click, while you finish your coffee.
The owner is not there: leave the QR with the staff and go. Your finder credit stays attached to that restaurant however many days pass before the owner scans it. You do not close the deal; the product does.
The owner's deal
Know this cold, because the owner will ask. Any restaurant that starts before 30 September 2026 is free until that date, nothing held back — and every menu has 14 days free of its own, which finish even if they run past it. After that it rents by the day, from 9.700₫ — less than half a Vietnamese coffee. For that they get the menu in eight languages (Vietnamese plus English, Russian, French, German, Spanish, and Chinese in Simplified and Traditional), QR ordering at the table, staff management, and allergy and dietary detail on every dish. No hardware, nothing installed, nothing to maintain.
Repeat
One restaurant a week. That is the whole ambition, and it compounds: the rewards are recurring, they stack, and there is no cap. The tenth restaurant pays you while you are demoing the eleventh. Keep it up for a season and you are not someone with a side hustle — you are the person who digitized your street.
If it goes sideways
No demo dies; it pauses. Four recoveries:
- The waiter is shy or slammed — leave the QR on the table and go; it works without you.
- The menu is giant — build one section, show it, let the owner build the rest.
- The staff are afraid of the boss — you never need them to pitch; the QR on the table does the talking.
- The wifi is weak — any phone with 4G works; the demo needs nothing from the restaurant.
What this is not
Read this twice, because it is the part a scam would hide. You earn nothing during a restaurant's free period. If the owner never scans your QR, you earn nothing — no scan, no reward. You never pay anything, to anyone, at any point. The staff access you hand out expires by itself after 4 hours, and the owner controls everything from the moment they claim. If that sounds slow — good. Real money is slow.

Is it really free for me?
Yes. There is nothing to buy — no kit, no deposit, no fee, at signup or ever. You spend the price of your own coffee at the demo, and nobody will ever ask you for money. If someone claiming to be UnivMenu does, it is not us.
When do I get paid?

What if the owner is not there?
Leave the menu QR with the staff and go. Your finder credit stays attached to the restaurant however long it takes the owner to scan it, and the demo you gave the staff keeps selling after you leave.
Is the staff QR safe for the restaurant?
Yes. It is temporary access that expires by itself after 4 hours, it keeps no data, and the owner has full control of the restaurant from the moment they claim it. Nothing you do in a demo can lock an owner out of anything.
Which restaurants work best?
Paper menus plus foreign customers. Tourist-area restaurants first, then mid-tier places near hotels with no English menu, then busy local spots with long menus. Visit in the golden hours, 14:00–16:30 — never during a rush.
